Do I Need to Pre-book?

It’s not always necessary but it is advisable, so you can be sure the right size unit is available for you.

Will I Need a Lock?

You will need your own security lock to secure your room, ensuring you as the sole key holder and that your room is securely locked at all times. Easy Access Self Storage can provide a high security lock when you arrive along with any other packaging materials you may need. We hold full range of stock from boxes to bubble wrap in our stores.

What Happens If I Lose My Key?

It’s not a problem at all. Once we’ve confirmed your identity, our teams will cut the lock from your storage room and you can access it immediately. It will be necessary for you to replace the security lock with a new one, so we only advised this as a last resort option.

When Can I Access My Belongings?

Anytime, each customer has a unique FOB and PIN entry code and you can access your self storage unit at any time even up to 24 hours a day 365 days a year.

Is Easy Access Self Storage Secure?

At Easy Access, you benefit from round-the-clock security provided by our state of the art CCTV systems. This means that you can rest easy knowing that your belongings are being kept secure. When you rent storage space from Easy Access, you’ll be given an access code which will allow you to come and go freely. You will receive your own lock and pin code to the entry system so you can trust your goods are safe, secure with access to them at any time.

We have invested highly in the following measures:

  • All of our units have prominent and well-lit locations
  • All units are fully alarmed and floodlit
  • Secure perimeter fencing is installed across the site with external motion sensors.
  • Our gates are electrically coded with intruder alarms
  • Digital CCTV and motion detectors are in operation 24/7: externally monitored.
  • Staffed receptions during opening hours.
  • PIN and Fob electronically operated gates.

Our facilities are closely monitored and access to all our sites are rigorously controlled. Additionally you are the only person with access to your room, being the sole key holder with a security lock that you own. Additionally there are no keys kept on site providing you with full peace of mind.

How Much Will It Cost To Store with Easy Access Self Storage

The cost of your storage is determined by the size of the storage room you will need. We calculate the size of room by floor area, the smaller the floor area the less you end up paying. Easy Access Self Storage team members will always aim to provide you with what you need to accommodate your belongings whilst meeting your budget. Recommending the correct space for you isn’t as simple and straightforward as one may think.

It depends on serval factors:

  • What you need to store
  • How stackable it is
  • How high the ceiling of the storage room is
  • What level of access you require to your items as you may want to leave a walkway through the storage room to get to your possessions.

We will always advise on how you can stack your belongings to make best use of the room and space.

What Can Be Stored In Self-Storage?

The possibilities of what can be stored in a self-storage unit are endless, in fact it’s probably easier to answer what can NOT be stored!

  • Anything perishable- That is things like food items or perishable goods that could go mouldy. Not only will it make for a pretty unpleasant trip to your unit, we want to avoid bugs and rats visiting us.
  • Pets- Please make sure that when you store any pet/animal items you have removed all animals first!
  • Flammables- That’s right you won’t be surprised to hear we don’t accept flammable materials, including compressed gases in our storage units in Manchester or Stockport. We’re protecting everyone’s safety.
  • Guns- Even if you hold a firearms licence in the UK, we’re sorry but you’re not permitted to store any guns, firearms or ammunition in our units. This also includes replicas.
  • Cash- Money and cash should be kept safe in a financial institution, at home in a safe or a safe deposit box, and not a storage unit.

Apart from that we’re quite flexible on what you can store with us, of course if you’re unsure give us a call and we’ll give you plenty of advice.

What if I Need More Space?

No problem, we can upgrade your storage unit to a bigger size whenever you need more space. You can also add additional rooms if and when needed and remove them just as easy.

What does the price include are there any extra costs?

Easy Access Self Storage quotations all include VAT however, you will need to budget for a high security lock to secure your room. In addition your goods will need to be protected whilst they are in storage. Our teams will be happy to provide a quote for Store Protect, which will depend on the replacement value of your goods that are being stored.

To book a room it is completely risk free with no obligation and can be canceled with no penalties

Do I pay weekly or monthly?

Easy Access Self Storage will always invoice you on a four weekly basis, which is payable in advance. However, we only ask for 2 weeks’ notice when you vacate your room (unless stated otherwise) and we will refund to you any unused storage rental costs in accordance with our terms and conditions.

Do I need Insurance?

We are obliged to ensure your goods are protected whilst using our storage facility. All your belongings must be covered whilst in storage. We can offer liability protection under our own insurance policy. StoreProtect is an extension to our standard contract that allows us to accept liability for loss or damage to your goods in certain circumstances.

Easy Access Self Storage will always ensure our facilities are in great shape and take great care making every effort to protect items being stored with us. Therefore it is standard practice for self-storage companies to require their customers to be adequately protected for the duration of their stay.


Providing protection for your stored goods on a new replacement basis.

StoreProtect is an extension to our standard contract that allows us to accept liability for loss or damage to your goods in certain circumstances. Our liability under StoreProtect is accepted on a new replacement basis for most goods you store. However, there are restrictions for some items, such as jewellery, watches, furs, fine art, beers, wines, and electrical items.

We cannot offer StoreProtect for motorcars stored outside a unit, food/perishable items or electric vehicles of any kind.

To benefit from StoreProtect, you must declare an appropriate new replacement value for all goods stored (known as the Maximum Replacement Value). This figure must be adequate to include all goods at all times.


Do I have to insure my goods?

Our Self Storage Agreement requires you to accept our enhanced liability protection under StoreProtect;

How do I calculate my Maximum Replacement Value?

We must understand the total value of all goods stored with us. It is, therefore, a requirement for all customers to declare a suitable Maximum Replacement Value and to ensure it remains adequate for the storage period.

Your Maximum Replacement Value must represent the total current cost of replacing all stored property as new, except the following items where the replacement cost is calculated differently:

  • household linen and clothing, motorcars, motorbikes, boats, caravans, motorhomes and any other motorised vehicle, where the Replacement Value allows for the age, quality, degree of use, existing damage and consequent market value;
  • any goods which cannot be purchased new (such as antiques or works of art, for example), where the replacement value shall be the current market value; and
  • documents, where  the  Replacement  Value  shall  be  calculated  as  the  physical  cost  of replacing  the  documents  and/or  cost  of  reprinting,  re-issue  and/or  reconstitution, but excluding the value of the information contained in the documents

Do you offer storage for business use?

Easy Access Self Storage offer great flexible contracts for short or long term Self Storage with no minimum stay (unless stated otherwise). We’ll also offer our business customers the best business rates available. Please contact your chosen store for further details.

What Type of Business Uses Self Storage?

We have lots of business customers and here is a sample of the type of business we help.

  • Online Traders. Online traders start as small businesses running from the owner’s home. This comes with its own set of issues that storage can easily help. Once you’ve outgrown your home but are not ready to commit to expensive commercial premises consider our self storage units for your business.
  • Tradespeople Expensive tools that cannot be left in a vehicle overnight or dangerous tools that are unsafe to be left in your home storing them in a self-storage unit is the perfect solution. Any excess materials can be stored and used on future jobs. The type of trade we help is plumbers, electricians, joiners, decorators and many more.

Are Your Units Suitable for Disabled Persons?

Yes, all of our units are drive up and single storey for ease of access. If you require help moving please speak to our team who will be happy to assist in any way.
